Diginalysis is an informal website for sharing information on embedded technology, projects, tool and ideas. I will discuss my personal embedded projects, walk through technical decisions, and share thoughts, ideas, and results. I will also summarize decisions and evaluations I make as I continue to “build out” my growing lab, and stock up on supplies and tools.
From time to time, I may include links to interesting articles & videos from other sites. However, this site is not intended to be a ‘technology news’ site, as there are already plenty of those around.
Thanks for visiting – I hope you check in often and I welcome your thoughts and feedback. You can find more information about me & my background via the ‘about’ button.
The US cell phone industry is in the midst of several huge migrations. As one would expect, from a fast-paced technical industry. Every provider is upgrading something on their network. With upgrades ranging from desperately needed voice networks upgrades (Yes, AT&T, I’m talking about you), to data network upgrades (T-Mobile’s long running weak spot), to new technology additions (such as WiMax at Verizon).
The linked article summarizes the carrier’s current technology, their upgrade plans, and what the future state holds. The author does a fantastic job of reading through the marketing hype (the promise of better speed), to inform us what these upgrades are really all about (fixing congestion problems).
